System Change, Not Climate Change
Everyone has a part to play in trying to avert the climate crisis - from the easy-wins to the bigger efforts we can all make changes that will reduce our impact. But as much as the oil companies would like us to think that it's our fault and the onus is on individuals, the scale of the crisis is so huge that it needs a huge response - we need system change, not climate change.
We do all need to make changes to our lifestyle, but more importantly we need those changes to be made easy for us, not hard like they are at the moment. We need to end the support & subsidies for fossil fuels that are built into our political systems and power structures. We need business to put people and planet before profit, and we need our politicians to support us by making low-carbon lifestyles normal, not an expensive luxury. Climate justice is social justice.
