Want to perform some of the HouseFire songs yourself? Well now, you can, and completely for free - in concert, at a protest or just for a family sing along with your Nan (all profits must be donated to an environmental charity).
MERCH [make your own]
Everyone loves to wear band merch, show merch and generally affiliate themselves with their favourite Metta shows. But the world doesn’t need more fast fashion produced in unethical and unsustainable ways. So as our friends at Extinction Rebellion do - we’re giving you to the tools to make your own. All you need is a t-shirt, hoodie, hat, babygro - either one that you already have, or source one second hand or from a clothes swap, a piece of cardboard (cereal boxes work well), a copy of one of these free downloadable stencils and some eco fabric paint*. Print out the stencil and stick to a piece of cardboard. Cut out the stencil shape with a craft knife / Stanley knife, tape it on to your t-shirt of choice and sponge on the paint in the stencil holes. Try to press firmly from directly above, and remove immediately so the colour is less likely to bleed through. Then leave it to dry and TA DA - you have your own merch. It’s as easy as that.
To be as eco-friendly as possible, you should strive to re-use materials and minimise waste as much as possible so if you’ve got paints already lying around the house use them - they might not sustain going through the washing machine (though see below to make it machine-washable) but if you’re stencilling up a tote bag or a cap then that’s not going to be an issue.

*You can even make your own fabric paint with acrylic paints which you might already have lying around. You’ll need
White Vinegar.
Glycerine.
Tap Water.
Mix 10mls white vinegar, 10mls glycerine and 20mls water in a jar and give it a shake. Then use that to thin your acrylic paint out a little (or a lot if you want to do block printing instead and invert our stencils). The modified acrylic paint will then be machine washable at a low temperature.

We would love to see your own creativity in action - we’re providing the backing track and lyrics for our song Easy Life from In The Willows so you can make your own music video. Be as creative as you like - you could even rewrite the lyrics to speak about something else (as we did for our #LockdownParody) Back when it was touring the UK in 2019 we were humbled and entertained by some brilliant videos of our fans young and old rapping songs from IN THE WILLOWS so we thought we'd let you all have a go.
