‘fuses history, fairy-tale and meta-fiction into a fruit…of a memorably startling flavor’ – New York Times Book Review

A story about storytelling – a tapestry of tales, spun with magical threads. On the banks of the muddy Thames, in seventeenth century London, the huge and monstrous Dog Woman finds a baby boy, Jordan. Follow their journeys across space and time and the high seas, in search of dancing princesses and exotic fruit.

Using spoken word, music, aerial work, animation & puppetry, Metta Theatre bring to playful life this Jeanette Winterson classic.

Sexing The Cherry was first presented a part of the London Literature Festival at the Southbank Centre in July 2011, in association with the Southbank Centre and supported by Jacksons Lane, Curious Eye Theatre, Kings Hall Trust for the Arts & The Fidelio Charitable Trust. Supported by English Touring Theatre.
